This November, the "Mid Term" Elections will take place, and the Republicans are hopeful that they'll win back control of the House and Senate as well as a majority of the governorships that are up for election. These elections are called "mid term" because we are half way through President Obama's 1st term in office.
The stakes are high, and campaign spending is hitting new records. Most money is spent on advertising meant to win votes on Election Day. Propaganda / Advertising techniques are in great evidence, and they are all designed to sell the candidate or issue to you the voter. You need to recognize and see through them.
As you work on your own Colonial Ads this week, keep an eye out for the political ads that are blitzing TV, Radio, Mail, ...and comment on those you like, and those you don't. In your posting please name the candidate or issue whose Ad you are critiquing, describe the ad, identify the propoganda/advertising techniques being used, and post your comments and questions.
